Year 5 & 6 Open Evenings – A Special Invitation to Our Families

This time of year is always a highlight in our school calendar, as our Secondary Academies open their doors to welcome families from across the community. Our Year 5 & 6 Open Evenings are not only an opportunity to explore our schools but also a celebration of the partnerships we build with families, and the shared responsibility we have in shaping the future of every child.

These evenings are designed to give families a true sense of life in our academies. You will have the chance to:

  • Explore our facilities – from classrooms and science labs to creative arts spaces and sports facilities.

  • Learn about our curriculum and enrichment programme, which ensures that every student has the opportunity to discover their passions and talents, both in and beyond the classroom.

  • Meet our dedicated staff, who will be on hand to answer questions and share their experiences.

  • Hear directly from our Academy Principals in a special welcome presentation, where they will guide you through the academy vision and what you can expect from the evening.

We believe education is about more than just academic success; it is about inspiring young people to be confident, resilient, and ambitious. Our open evenings will give you a glimpse into how we deliver exceptional learning experiences, preparing our students to thrive in a competitive world and to lead successful, fulfilling lives.

Open Evening Dates & Themes

  • Wath Academy – Thursday 25th September
    Step into the spotlight with our Hollywood-Themed Open Evening. Roll out the red carpet and enjoy a star-studded welcome as you discover the opportunities that await.

  • Maltby Academy – Tuesday 30th September
    Join us for an evening of exploration as you meet our staff, see our facilities in action, and discover how we support every student to achieve their very best.

  • Sir Thomas Wharton Academy – Wednesday 1st October
    Experience our vision where the sky is the limit. See how we inspire ambition, celebrate success, and create a community where every young person can thrive.
