Mrs Cliff

Mrs Cliff is Principal at Maltby Manor Academy; being responsible for the day to day organisation and management of the school.  She has worked at Maltby Manor Academy since September 2014 after the school was categorised by OFSTED to be in ‘Special Measures’.  Initially based at Lilly Hall Junior School, Mrs Cliff has worked within the Maltby Community for over 20 years.

Whilst at Lilly Hall Junior School, Mrs Cliff was responsible for the monitoring and tracking of pupil performance as well as leading school improvement priorities; impacting on the quality of teaching and learning.  In her final year, as acting Headteacher, Mrs Cliff was a key player in the design and build of the new school building, ensuring that upon amalgamation, the school enabled the children in the Maltby Community to experience education in a first class environment, preparing them for life in the 21st century.

Mrs Cliff became a ‘Lead Teacher for Assessment’ in 2008 where she supported underperforming schools across Rotherham in the development of strategies to impact on the attainment of all pupils.  She also utilised these skills across all the schools within Maltby, being part of the ‘Strategic Performance Group’, challenging underperformance and securing pupil outcomes.  She successfully gained the NPQH qualification in 2011.

To ensure consistency of standards across the learning trust, Mrs Cliff is a member of the Maltby Learning Trust Mathematics group making links and working with maths leads across all schools. Having a specific interest in science, Mrs Cliff also leads a strategic science group where best practise is shared to ensure all the schools within the trust are at the forefront of new developments following the launch of the new curriculum in 2014.

Mrs Cliff was seconded out of the Maltby Community in September 2013 to support a school within Rotherham which had fallen into ‘Special Measures’.  During this time Mrs Cliff was fundamental in developing school improvement strategies and raising standards.  She was asked to return to Maltby after Maltby Manor fell into Special Measures in 2014.  Her main focus initially was to support and drive forward school improvement, securing accountability and ensuring consistency.  Mrs Cliff continues to lead Maltby Manor as it strives towards the goal of achieving ‘good’ at the next OFSTED inspection before aspiring onto ‘outstanding’.
